Cathay Bank has been an enthusiastic supporter of Walk for Hope since 2007. Our employees, together with their families and friends, joined Team Cathay to raise funds to fight against cancer. Although the walk was held virtually once more, Team Cathay still managed to raise $45,490 this year.
Congratulations to those who registered as members of Team Cathay Bank and who contributed to this meaningful cause. The November 6 event raised a total of $1.4 million.
A special thank you to Angela Chang, who was involved with Walk for Hope through Cathay Bank for 15 years. She is motivated to be a part of the fundraiser each year because "every gift, big and small, adds to the lives improved and lives saved," a quote from the City of Hope which she truly believes.
For those who have yet to participate in this fundraiser, Angela would like them to know that this event focuses on finding a cure for breast and gynecological cancers, stating "we all have mothers, sisters, wives, daughters, and nieces in our lives. These efforts are important because 'cancer doesn't stop, and neither do we.”
