We are a citizen of the community

Cathay Bank cares about our communities. When we support causes that help them thrive, we invoke the spirit that inspired Cathay Bank’s founders so many years ago.

Our customers are also our neighbors and friends. As we engage in our communities on many levels outside the workplace, we in turn find greater meaning in our work.

We contribute to enhance the growth and success of the communities we serve. Cathay Bank Foundation was founded in 2002 to create opportunities in affordable housing, community and economic development, and education. 

We also support communities through different charitable events. Since its inception in 1977, the Cathay Bank Annual Charity Golf Tournament has raised more than $2 million for nonprofit organizations in Southern California.

 

Team Cathay Bank has supported Walk for Hope Los Angeles since 2007, benefiting City of Hope’s cancer research, treatment, and educational programs.

We worked with Operation HOPE in 2018 to establish a HOPE Inside financial education office located at our Westminster branch building in Orange County, California.
We worked with Operation HOPE in 2018 to establish a HOPE Inside financial education office located at our Westminster branch building in Orange County, California—the first HOPE Inside location in an Asian community nationwide. The HOPE Inside financial education office is operated by Operation HOPE and provides complimentary one-on-one credit and money management counseling services to the local community.

 

Cathay Bank will continue to contribute to the communities we serve in different ways to suit their needs.
